Happy New Year

As Sydney celebrated the coming of a new year with a bang, may we remember those in need, yet remain hopeful for a bigger and brighter year ahead for us all.

May your year, dear reader, be filled with culinary capers, epicurean feasts and many a gastronomic adventure!

Happy 2005 everyone!

Sydney New Years Eve fireworks 2004.
The fireworks were preceded by one minute's silence as a mark of respect for the tsunami victims. 3,000kg of explosives were used in the twenty-minute display.

Keen eyes will spot the giant art sculpture disco ball, the controversial theme for the Harbour Bridge this year, apparently symbolising reflection.

  5. hi AugustusGloop,

I used to host my site at Blogger too, but found that TypePad is more user-friendly for an HTML dummy like me. It just got to a point where I was spending more time figuring out the technicalities than blogging, so I decided, "What the heck! Just fork out some money and make my life easier." :) Thanks too for the link to my site!
