Chinese New Year Parade, Sydney

fan

A brief sunshower did little to dampen the spirits of beaming participants and camera-wielding spectators during this year's Chinese New Year parade.

Grey skies overhead were more than compensated by the colourful costumes on show; the majestic head-snapping dragon dances kept everyone on their toes.

  3. Hehe, my grandpa established the Yau Kung Mun Martial Arts Academy which also does all the dragon/lion dances around Sydney at CNY. I know some of the people in the photo of the guys in gold pants and red shirts as my uncle now heads the academy.

The big 35m long dragon which appears at the annual City of Sydney Parade down George St is also YKM's! =] Hope you enjoyed the parade!
