Ferragosto, Great North Road, Five Dock



We headed to Five Dock today for Ferragosto 07 . Officially celebrated on August 15, Ferragosto is an Italian Catholic holiday observed around the world. In Sydney it was celebrated in glorious cheek-flushing sunshine along Five Dock's Great North Road.

  4. Hi Nora B - It was a gorgeous day yesterday. There was a mention of it in Good Living but none in the Saturday SMH Planner.

    Hi aptronym - We did notice the Caring Funerals stall but nah, I didn't get a show bag. Lots of pet stalls too. You got some yummy photos as well :)

    Hi chocolatesuze - I think it was just coloured edible foil. Pretty hey.

  6. ah shame, i live in the next suburb too and i didnt know it was on! only noticed when i went out for a drive to pick up a friend and realised the roads were blocked.. was lovely day for it!

    Hi Papa Lazarou - It was a lovely day indeed. Shame you didn't realise this was on. Plenty of others did though. The crowds were quite enormous!
