Superbowl, Chinatown

Superbowl is a Sydney institution with a reputation for cheap food, dodgy decor and surly service. We ducked in here for a quick lunchtime soup mission, fending off chills from a sudden Sydney cold-snap.

We ordered the hot and sour soup and the won ton soup. Not a fan of hot and sour, I was reassured that the soup had the perfect amount of sourness and chilli. The won ton soup arrived with six impressively large dumplings in a clear chicken broth, each dumpling containing a healthy portion of pork mince and a whole prawn.

Sure the tea in our teapot was tepid, and service wasn't particularly attentive, but at $5.50 each, how could you possibly argue?

EDIT: Click here for a follow-up review on Superbowl congee and spicy deep-fried squid.
