This confirms my belief that all this fuss is really about politics and ego's.

I've been treated very badly there. And so was John Lethlean from The Age a couple of years ago. Coicidentally we had a goalso yesterday at Tomatom.com. I'll ad a trackback to this dicussion now.

We love the food at Rockpool! It was my first time in an upmarket restaurant in Sydney, and had a few "oh my god!" moments during our dinner.
However, I found some of the staff a bit obsessive compulsive with the placement of the napkins. I went to the loo, left the napkin on my seat, then I was told one of the staff took it, folded it, and put it on the table, and then another went by and moved it around again. This happened a few more times while we were there. What's up with that?

On the subject of reviews, The Age Good Food Guide apparently gave Vue de Monde three chefs hat but didn't get to eat in the newly opened fully working restaurant - just the old one in the old location. We will email them on this on Monday morning and seek a comment.

In Melbourne one reviewer deducts two pints if the napkins are paper. There's something good about a proper one.
