Thanks Helen! I would use the apricot jam for my Sachertorte that I bake only once a year for my bf's birthday! It is such an essential part of the cake.

I would love to use the Huey’s Hamburger Relish first for sure. I would start up my BBQ, prepare some homemade patties and switch on my favourite Huey's DVD (just to get into the Huey's joyious mood). I will be able to prepare a yummy delicious hamburger with the relish. What a fun weekend it will be!

Probably the takatala sauce to make some quick and dirty (and probably very unauthentic) lamb tagine.

First, I would clap gleefully at the package and thank the heavens for the spot of condiment-brightness amidst the hellishness of my current house-sitting situation.

Then, I would take a little bowl and spoon, open up the Blue Cheese Dressing and pour a fair bit into the bowl. I would walk down the corridor into the master bedroom, where the only working heater in the house is keeping just that room warm, turn on Masterchef, and eat the dressing with a spoon.

Icky? Perhaps. But you asked, and I'm being honest. :D

The first I will do is invite all my classmates from Le Cordon Bleu who are from all over the world, and have a good old aussie barbie!

Peppercorn Sauce - my hubby would love that - I wouldn't need to cook anything, he'd just eat it off the spoon for his dinner (or maybe I could smother myself in it ..... )

Blue Cheese dressing on top on simple fresh lettuce, rocket, pine nut salad. Fresh and healthy weekend brunch. What can be more amazing?

Blackberry Jam & I'd have it on toast, with lots of real butter (not revolting man-made margarine). There's nothing better on this earth.

Strawberry Jam on my Nan's home made scones which are to die for (& I hope he doesn't die too soon, because she hasn't taught me the recipe yet!!!!!!!!).

Huey’s Hamburger Relish just to see if his cooking & condiments are as good as he says they are on the TV. I don't believe it until I try it.

The Cooper's Ale BBQ Sauce! I'm a poor student living away from home and cooking for myself can get a little dull...I love it when my sisters send me little jams and things in the mail :)! So a new sauce is always exciting for me.

Oooh lucky you - Adelaide is fantastic!

I would definitely use the Cooper's BBQ sauce - great beer, what could be better!

First thing would be to line them all up in front of me to admire them and then carefully read each label, so I can imagine what I would use them for.

The Sweet Chilli Relish would be the first jar I'd crack open. I'd bake a potato, top it with a little grated cheese, sliced spring onion, a large blob of Greek yoghurt and then a generous heaping of Sweet Chilli Relish on that. Extravagant, but heaven on a plate! I love the mix of creamy yoghurt and sweet chilli.

I’d pour ALL of the contents into a blender and make the world’s most disgusting breakfast smoothie. Bon appetite!

A great Aussie hamburger featuring Beerenberg Caramelised Onion... the postman's just delivered the prize hamper and I need a great lunch to accompany my dreamings of how I'm going to use ALL the other delights! :)

Hi Helen, The first thing I'd use from the hamper would be the Caramelised Onion as I have some gorgeous goat cheese from Everleigh Markets and can make some gorgeous tarts for an afternoon tea served on vintage plates.

  • At 5/11/2010 6:53 pm, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I'd use the takatala sauce and marinade to spice up my lamb and cannelini bean stir fry!

I would share among with my friends. To use the hamper in a 'cooking party' and invite friends over to cook and enjoy the food that made using the hampers' condiments!

    the Caramelised Onion
    would be my number one
    served simply on my steak
    making my tastebuds awake
    with taste I will treasure
    Beerenberg that's pleasure!

I would invite my friends over for a bar-b-que and start with the Coopers Ale BBQ sauce on a piece of mouth watering steak. I would use the rest of the condiments as extras, giving my friends a choice.

  • At 5/23/2010 9:30 pm, Anonymous Jenna said…

wow so much to choose from.
I would make some fluffy traditional scones, take some cream and the blackberry jam to my nanas for afternoon tea.

When i get home i would then make mini pizza's with the tomato chutney sppread on the base!!..yum yum.. :)

I'd grab this sauce-Huey's Asian Plum,
The perfect factor for my dinner sum,
My formula includes pork, star anise and chilli,
Multiplying the taste by adding this scrumptious sauce willy-nilly.

    Grabbing first Strawberry Jam,
    Oh yes ma'am!
    On baguettes with fresh butter,
The mere thought makes my heart aflutter.

This is going to sound very boring, but the strawberry jam - reason? My son has peanut butter and strawberry jam every morning for breakfast. He eats the most basic of strawberry jams and I would love to try to introduce a more superior variety! Baby steps!

    Peppercorn sauce semi-sweet, spicy delight,
Takes cooking offal to a new height,
I'd cook livers in brandy and puree with a dash of this,
Morish mouthfuls result, original pate'd bliss.

Huey's Relish is first for my Vegie Burger Surprise,
Stacked with goodies, a feast not just for the eyes,
Finished off perfectly with this piquant sauce,
Healthy take-away alternative, forget tomato sauce.

Many years my palette has been repressed,
so it would give me great joy for this hamper to be mine,
for I live to treat my tastebuds,
    a Hamper from Hahndorf divine.
My Ex would not allow me,
the joys of chilli, satay or fish,
    Takatala would be my choice,
to serve seafood in a most delectable dish!
My mouth is now watering for the numerous delicious choices available in the Beerenberg Hamper - I am so excited!

1 teaspoon of everything in the hamper, mixed together and used to marinade pork. Just to prove you can do anything with the magical meat and it will still taste great. That or using the experience for an epic fail write up.

The Coopers Ale BBQ Sauce because sometimes its too early in the day for an alcoholic drink, but that doesn't mean to say that you don't want to be a little bit naughty.

I'd use Huey’s Hamburger Relish to make my husband a super-duper multi-layered hamburger with bacon, eggs, cheese and about four meat patties. He will be so busy eating my delicious creation he won't notice I've gone shopping with his credit card!

I would use the caramelised onion to sneak into a range of my boyfriends dishes, the best part would be watching him enjoying the meal as he refuses to believe onion tastes good if cooked properly.
