Win movie tickets to The Kids Are All Right
This week's Freebie Friday takes us back to the movies. Giant tubs of popcorn, frozen coke and a choc-top will have your weekend sorted.
Thanks to Hopscotch Films, we have ten double in-season passes to see The Kids Are All Right, starring Julianne Moore, Annette Bening and Mark Ruffalo. Lesbian parents, a restaurant-owning father and lots of laughs make an enjoyable comedy about today's modern family.
Plot synopsis:
The Allgoods are a close family experiencing life's typical ups and downs: 18-year old daughter Joni (Wasikowska) is heading off to Stanford University and starting to distance herself from her parents; 14-year-old Laser is hanging out with a deadbeat friend who constantly leads him into trouble. The only difference is that this family has two mums. Jules (Julianne Moore) and Nic (Bening) have been together for years, deeply in love, and had both children through artificial insemination.
This loving but strained home life is thrown into comic disarray when the kids track down their biological donor-Dad, Paul (Ruffalo), and invite him home for dinner. Paul is a bachelor whose sudden longing for a family introduces an interesting sexual dynamic to the not-quite-ordinary equation of the Allgoods. At first Joni is so happy to have a cool, handsome dad like Paul. But soon enough she comes to realise that Paul is fun loving but lacks self-control and when he starts sleeping with one of her mums chaos reigns.

Big tub of Salted-butter popcorn and Large Coke.

Being Asian, I shy away from the heavily inflated prices of cinema food. Instead, I sneak in my own little Asian snacks such as POCKY!! The only bad thing is that they run out very quickly.

My Absolute Favourite treat,
In the cinema when I take my seat,
is to very 'quietly' open a pack of tear & share,
Peanut M&M's...whilst I tear, I rarely share I do not care...
It may sound selfish
But they are just sooo delish!

I love the smell of buttered popcorn in every cinema, so I have to have some of those coupled with frozen coke! However, I must go slow on the frozen coke, otherwise my movie watching gets interrupted by a visit to the loo!

Well, it *would* be a gigantic tub of yummo salty movie popcorn, peanut m&m's and a litre of lemonade... if I weren't so cheap! Considering I am what I am, I by pass the HORRENDOUSLY overpriced candy bar and whilst safe in the darkness of the movie theatre I delve into my oversized tote and bring out whatever smuggled junkie goodies I've purchased at the cheapo supermarket beforehand. Mwhahahaha - take that Village/Hoyts!

Malteasers. They remind me of going to the cinema with my dad as a child, who would never let us have anything sweet. What an event it became, wide-eyed, with malteasers in hand!

When I was a bit younger, I used to take in a full bag of Toobs, a full large bag mind you. Little did I realise at that age that I was probably annoying everyone around me crunching down on them not to mention the incredibly loud foil bag.
The worst thing though, was that I would become incredibly dehyrdated halfway through the movie after eating a bag of those incredibly salty chips.
But oh my, were they gooooood and worth it.

I love the pick'n'mix lollies my local cinema has at the snack bar, I'm always tempted by them, give in occasionally and usually regret giving in! It really doesn't take very long to pile in 100g of lollies, and the price escalates very quickly :S However, jaffas, sour gummy worms, smarties, jellybeans and aniseed rings are so good, it's very hard to resist temptation!

Jaffas! As a child, they were *the* thing to eat at the movies...and doubled as a great, noisy marble when you rolled under your chair and along the wooden cinema floor. It was the naughty snack! Luckily, the cinemas have carpet now. The naughty thrill these days comes because I've smuggled in a packet bought cheaper elsewhere!

As strange as it sounds, I always take a bag of frozen peas, Oreos and a jar of peanut butter. It's a tradition that my best friend and I have held since we were 7 - despite the strange looks we get!

I just l-o-v-e those picture theatres where you can buy a red wine to sip while watching the movie. Also, I sneak in my own bikkies and cheese, who needs a home theatre?

Nothing beats popcorn at the movies. No matter how hard I try I just can't replicate that beautiful stuff at home so I get my fix every time I go to the movies.

POPCORN, definitely POPCORN!!! So yummy....only thing is it's usually all gone 5 minutes into the movie and my tonugue goes numb.....can't go to the movies without getting popcorn, MMMMMMMMMMMMM!

My favourite movie snack is DIY Sneaky Spiders.
Ingredients:
1 large plastic mug or cup
1x 125ml Homer Hudson icecream (The Digger and Beyond Fudge Brownie are reccomended)
1x 300ml Coke (or other softdrink)
1x spoon
1x big, confident smile while you're sneaking the contraband into the theatre.
Method
During the previews, scoop the icecream into your mug. Then pour the Coke into the mug. Enjoy.

Cheese and Onion Potatoe Chips..but only if i'm alone in the theatre as i would hate to bug anyone with rustling bags of chips!! Hh Ha!
