2004 Food Blog Awards: winners

All the winners for the 2004 Food Blog Awards have now been announced. Alas, Grab Your Fork missed out on winning in its nominated category of Best Food Blog - City. Congratulations go to Seattle Bon Vivant--a worthy winner indeed, who is incidentally hosting the 4th Sugar High Friday: Let's Go Nuts.

Chocolate and Zucchini scooped four of the 16 sixteen awards, including Best Recipes, Best Writing, Best Site Design and Best Overall Food Blog. Congratulations Clothilde on one of the most comprehensive foodie blogs out there!

A list of all sixteen winners is available here.

Looking ahead--nominations for the 2005 Bloggies have now opened. Even better, a new category for Best Food Weblog has now been included, distinctly missing from the 2004 Bloggies and necessitating the 2004 Food Blog Awards organised by the Accidental Hedonist.

Nominations for the 2005 Bloggies close 10:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (GMT-5) on Monday, January 10, 2005.

Finalists will be announced Thursday, January 20 and the voting public will choose the winners.

Winners will be announced in mid-March.

Now go forth and nominate!

    Hi Grab Your Fork!
I recently stumbled upon your blog, and have spent the past 2 days reading through your archives (when I really should be revising). What I find extremely refreshing about your attitude to food (especially with your write-ups about the Japan trip) is that you're so open to trying everything. This is just such a great approach in a world where people still turn up their noses at other people's culture and traditional way of eating. They just don't understand that what they find disgusting may be someone's staple diet!
I love reading your blog because not only do you openly embrace other cultures and try new things, you actually do seem to enjoy it immensely too!
Thanks for all your postings, they've made my past 2 days very enjoyable.

Hi Belecan Loving Omnivorous Giant - (Cool name btw). Gee... thanks for the gushing praise. It's always nice to see that I've waylaid an otherwise academically dedicated student! :)

Food is life. I think it's such a shame when people deny their tastebuds a chance to experience new horizons! I also think that nothing reveals more about a culture than its cuisine, which I why I love exploring the local markets, street stalls and snack aisles whenever I'm overseas!

You have an interesting blog too... I spent 2.5 years in London so it's always nice to hear about ol' Blighty.

Glad you enjoyed browsing the GYF archive (where is that cheque from the Japan Tourist Office going to arrive?!?) and hope you see you back here--and commenting too! Feedback always makes my day!
