Pyrmont Growers' Market
This month I synchronised watches with both Saffron (a Pyrmont first-timer!) and Pinkcocoa for triple camera power.
Anonymity was not an option as cameras were whipped out at every opportune moment. Zoom lenses extended, samples were zeroed in on, and oh, yes, a certain celebrity chef was somewhat stalked...

Fresh coriander in hanging baskets at the Darling Mills stall.

Is that Dazza?
Yes Darren Simpson was out and about, casually leaning against a bicycle as he talked to stallholders. Here he is looking introspective and somewhat pensive. Oh yes, he always shops with a cameraman and stylist...

Awww.... pretty.
Flower pots line the wharf

Fresh giant bunches of broccoli

Venison pie sample from the Mandagery Creek farmed venison stall
Ooh samples! Following the all-clear from Saffron's camera lens, we dove in for a bite of flaky pastry filled with tender chunks of venison.
Deer me... please.
Good Living Growers' Market

I love markets and this one looks great. Who's Darren Simpson? I am not too sure about Aussie chefs.

Hi boo licious - Sorry, I meant to add a hotlink to an online profile which I've now included.
He's best known in Sydney for heading here in 1999 (from the UK) to open the successful Aqua Luna Bar and Restaurant which he has only recently departed. He also graced our TV screens as one of the judges on the reality TV show My Restaurant Rules (five couples run a restaurant).
He was the youngest ever winner of Britain's Young Chef of the Year. He was Head Chef at London's River Cafe. He's worked with Terence Conran. Did I mention he has a lovely Irish accent? =)
His focus is on Italian cooking and he's about to open a new restaurant La Sala this/next month.
And yes, I love outdoor markets (but you probably guessed that already!).

Hi Violet - Yup, we're definitely spoilt in Sydney for choice, quality and value of produce, meat and seafood!
I'm glad you like the blog! *blush* It's comments like these which make me *sigh* all warm and gooey inside - lol.
You'll have to make the farmers markets next month. And bring the camera. I confess I had to have a nap after these markets =)
Hi boo licious - Aha! It seems so weird to think of Aussie shows getting exported overseas. I think the 1st season was more exciting than the 2nd. Natalie and Simon were crazy characters but in retrospect, thoroughly entertaining!

Has Dazza got a girlfriend?
Maybe he should hook up with Rachael Ray, then they can both get a bit more exposure in each other's respective hemispheres...

Hi Sam - Nice thought =) but Dazza has his own Jools. He and his partner Julie play happy families with 2-year-old son Angus.
It was be a great PR strategy though! lol
