501 Posts and Counting

500 posts

As I started on a new entry today, I suddenly realised that my latest post on Hannah's Pies was officially my 500th post. Whoah.

Back in February of this year, I provided some brief stats on the gluttony that is my reason for living. Here are the latest blogging figures accrued over 500 posts on GrabYourFork:

  • 196 reviews on 148 different restaurants across Sydney

  • 13 bakeries, patisseries or chocolate shops

  • 20 food festivals

  • 4 specialty food shows

  • 8 dinner functions

  • 10 different food markets

  • and 14 reported visits to the Good Living Growers Market in Pyrmont.

Along with my rapidly expanding stomach, I hope I've managed to increase my skill base as well. I've endured a DIY crash course in the gobbledygook that is HTML, improved my photography skills beyond my wildest dreams (have you seen the ones from two years ago?) and have made a concerted effort to describe food beyond "tasty" and "delicious".

Along the way I've forged unbelievable friendships with fellow foodbloggers from Sydney, from Australia, and all over the world. I have delighted in fellow bloggers' fooding adventures, cooking exploits and droolworthy foodporn on a daily basis. I have been lucky enough to meet many of these fantastic people in Sydney and abroad. I am in constant awe at the consistently high level of quality writing, photography and food styling, all done with professionalism, good humour and inspiring regularity.

And as as much as I enjoy chronicling my fooding adventures, it wouldn't be the same without readers. Yes, this means you. From my visitors I have received kind comments, thoughtful emails, restaurant suggestions and even personal restaurant reviews.

So thank you readers, thank you foodbloggers, thank you Blogger.

And thank you to all my long-suffering dining companions who have silently watched their meals in hunger as I take just one more photo... for the blog, you know?

I'm having a ball. Here's to 500 more. And then some.

1. Sashimi ebi, 2. Bunch of strawberries, 3. Olive, rosemary and salt crust flatbread, 4. Ice kacang, 5. Com Chien Duong Chau, 6. Piped to order, 7. Heaven, 8. Chim Cul Quay, 9. Neat heat, 10. Steak sanger, 11. Grilled chicken breast, 12. Michette, 13. Pastry porn, 14. Crossed, 15. Luscious, 16. Promise

Hi Deborah - Thanks. Without blogging I never would have met you! And how much fooding fun would I have missed out on! I agree: I look forward to many many more!

Hi AnastasiaC - Thank you. Me too. More food? Here I come!

Hi Pickles - Thanks Emily. You amaze me with all your food adventures, and I love reading all your reviews too!

Hi Swee - You've done a great job of eating up Sydney already. Not sure when the next meetup is (the organising baton is mid-air) but the more foodbloggers, the merrier!

Hi Chocolatesuze - Cheers. Me too. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

Hi Kate - Doyen sounds so... official. And I am so amateur I think. A celebration sounds like a great idea though. Perhaps one involving creme brulee... mmm...

Hi h&b - Aww thank you. That's such a lovely thing to say.

I'm glad you're enjoying the site and that my excessive gluttony can be so honorably justified. And your toddler is such a cutie! What a gorgeous cheeky smile!

Hi Nic - You should definitely come back. It would so great to meet you!

I am in constant admiration of all your cooking adventures. You bake. With yeast! Can't wait to see when you hit 500. You must be very close now!

Congrats on reaching 500. You should celebrate with one of those nut brulees from that bakery near you.
