Milliore, Chinatown

In search of a quick cheap lunchtime feed, we ventured into Milliore, which we have passed many a time on our cross-Chinatown travels. Situated on the Campbell Street side of Capitol Square, Milliore claims to offer Korean fusion food, however we were more interested in its reguarly advertised $5 lunchtime special.

Today's lunchtime special had the option of either eel or chicken on rice. I chose the eel which was tender and fairly tasty, although I found the sauce a bit too cloying in a fruity sweetness. The eel wasn't as firm as I have been used to--it didn't have the same texture as the smoked eel which I normally have.

However for a mere $5 one receives the eel or chicken on a huge bed of rice, a bowl of miso soup and two Korean side dishes of kimchee and shredded cabbage with apple. Service was fast and pleasant, and a jug of iced water was served immediately. Good cheap feed... we like it!
