Upcoming events

I'm most excited about next week's opening of Haigh's at The Strand. I first discovered Haigh's hand-made delights on my last trip to Melbourne and, like, yum! The 100sqm outlet will be Haigh's biggest store (apart from the Adelaide Visitors' Centre) and is the first in Sydney (there are six stores in Adelaide and five in Melbourne). About time we got one!

The other drool-worthy news for Sydneysiders is the Two-for-One seafood buffet offer by Four Points Sheraton's Corn Exchange restaurant. I've posted about the seafood buffet before and it's definitely worth a belt notch or two. The offer is valid lunch or dinner anytime (except Thursday nights) with prices ranging from $49.50-$69.50 (per couple) depending on when you go. To make a reservation you need to call 02 9290 4816 and quote 'WINTER 2 FOR 1'. Bookings are limited to a minimum of two, and a maximum of four people.

I drooled while I watched the segment on Haigh's last night on FLG2A. It might almost be worth visiting Adelaide just to go to the visitors' centre.

do you get hell's kitchen down there? oh my - for some reason, i am so strangely attracted to gordon ramsay's absolutely horrendous dictatorial behavior...

and the next food network star, too.

Hi Jess - Someone really should offer a Chocolate Factory Tour around Australia...

I will get to Cadbury's at Claremont one day. Sounds much better than the Bourneville tour I did.

Hi Sarah - We had Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares but not Hell's Kitchen yet.

I have a lot of respect for him. Sure his temper is great fun to watch, but he definitely knows what he's doing.

Hi Suze - I try to avoid the Nut Shop--too many good things to buy!

I'm definitely intending to check out Haigh's on opening day though. Do you think they'll be giving out free chocolate? lol

Hi Pinkcocoa - Haigh's is great. I didn't get to buy much on my last trip as I didn't realise how good it was until I got home.

You should tell your friend his chocolate courier duties are now no longer required! lol

Yay Haigh's in Sydney. I too discovered Haigh's on a trip to Melbourne. Their shop was almost in the lobby of our hotel. Dangerous...

Hi Kirsten - That does sound dangerous. But tasty too!
