Sydney Royal Easter Show 2007: The Animals

cattle

It's Easter and that means it's time for the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

I never went to the Show that often as a kid (once with the folks, and once with primary school as I recall) but there is something irresistibly nostalgic about the place, even if it doesn't come cheaply.

More often than not, it's a chance for city slickers to appreciate Australia's proud agricultural heritage, even if they do wrinkle their noses at the smell as they step gingerly over the flattened cow pats.

So first up, it was the animals. Who knew bacon could look so cute?

Next up: the food, including the delicious scones from the CWA tea room.

The little piggies are sooooo cute but why aren't their tails curly? I am sure Babe had a curly one and no toupes either?

Hi DiveMummy - The striped piglets were very cute!

Hi Madelyne - I hope you had fun. Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Hi Y - I only get to the RES only once every 4 years I think. I might have to start going more often :)

Hi Sweet Treat - Mmm the scones were great. And I guess by now you've seen everything we pigged out on.

Hi Veruca Salt - Hehe. Maybe they need to eat their crusts :)

Hi Kate - The goats were very cool, and so beautifully groomed!
